Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) announced new procedure for Mobile SIM Activation guidlines from February 1st. With the help of NADRA (National Database and Registration Authority) this system has been lanuched. Massive Media (TV/Radia/News Papers) ads have been running to creat awareness among general public.
With this new system a non-activated SIM would be issued to a customer after his or her original identity card was checked and the Cellular Service Agreement (CSA) form was properly filled out.The customer would then call 789 from new SIM and the respective call centre would ask a few questions to verify the data provided.
